Four Chicago-based direct response firms have signed an agreement to merge their businesses to become United Marketing Group LLC. The group, formerly the Hi-Tech Group Inc., Roy Thomas Inc., United Promotions Inc. and Mail Servcies Inc., expects to grow its 1.5 million membership base through direct mailings, telemarketing and other marketing techniques. It will offer services such as database marketing, merchandise promotions, clubs and services and electronic commerce and software development. Alan Portelli will be president/CEO of the Schaumburg, IL-based company with more than 200 employees and combined revenues of more than $120 million.
