Prime Companies Inc., San Francisco, signed a letter of intent last week to acquire Pixel Factory Inc., Orlando, FL, a producer of Internet, film and video productions, in a deal valued at more than $1 million. Prime, which made the move based on its belief that the Internet and direct marketing industries are converging, wants Pixel's skills in managing complex Internet projects. Prime plans to build an international business-to-business direct marketing database network, a task it has carried out largely through joint ventures with Internet and telecommunications firms. Pixel has produced work for AT&T Corp., Walt Disney Co., General Electric Co. and Universal Studios, among others.
